I have an unerring knack for backing the 3-legged donkeys, so I don't bother any more.

Backing them is fine. Dating them is not.

Looks like a serious injury or fatality to the rider of ..........ITV doing a good job of glossing over any bad news at the moment.
No, they're waiting to get their facts right. ;)

Fair point in hindsight. Seems all jockeys and horses are OK, or at least thats what they are telling the public.  Fwiw 'saint are' actually fell at the chair, it was a different jockey that got the green screen at bechers.

My Dad told me to treat women, that you want to keep, like horses:

"keep them well shagged and well shod and they will not wander"

    Sage advice IMO

I bet £50 each year, £10 e/w on a couple of favourites and £5 e/w on an outsider. Got £45 back on Anibale Fly so not too bad,  other years I've had some really good returns.

Good news today, Saint Are is home and recovering well from his fall.
