Yep the frog tape isn't the ordinary tape it is the low tack product for delicate surfaces. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Frogtape-Delicate-Surface-Masking-Tape/dp/B006Y7F2P6/
Main thing is to test it before using it on something spendy.
That goes for absolutely every other thing you do with regards to repairs .

I put lengths on a plastic board and slice with a scalpel into thinner strips, also de-tacks it a little. There's also the ancient trick of giving it a quick dab on your jeans. Never bother with that though.

I picked up some red stuff from wilkos the other week that gives really sharp lines with no bleed and is very low tack. Great for paint, not tried it for fretwork yet
