Line 6 hx effects and preamp

Hi,

anyone using a helix hx with with a Preamp pedal (two notes le clean or something similar)? I have a kemper but find the endless amp options to much temptation to fiddle and wonder whether a single preamp plus the hx effects might be a better option. Any thoughts?

I've got a Helix and only use one amp model & about 6 'pedals' in total.  It's easy to get wrapped up in all the squillion options but somebody told me to really get to grips with just one amp and spend a few nights learning it (like you would with a real amp).  If you want a second amp, do the same again, then approach each pedal the same way.  
It worked for me and is fantastic - the rest of the stuff I can now happily ignore because I've not spent time learning it.
