"...it has been checked by specialist who have opened it to check the serial number".

    Sounds legit.

  • I guess the seller doesn't say quite how vintage it is, nor specifies a year. Looks like an early 90's version to me with the p100's.

Does look like a real Gibson though.  Early 80's logo?

  • I thought this would get a laugh.
I'm thinking it's an original Gibson, neck break obv and a refin. But not vintage..

I reckon @designerseye88 is pretty close with his evaluation. Hard to say any more without looking inside. Definitely NOT vintage though.

I had the double cut version in the same case. Was 1995 I think. Sold it 4/5 year ago. Nice thing but awful rosewood fretboard spoilt it:(. Hope that' not what they worth cause I dint get anywhere near that ha. Ambitious I would say.

Larfed out loud at "so-called Rock star".

    Highly abused re-issue. Severely over-priced.

If the guitar has any previous owner kudos, the vendor ought to say who it was and provide some sort of evidence to back up the claim.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

    “So called rock star”?

Is is he referring to himself? Perhaps the “1” in the price is a type? ;)

I’ve a cherry 97 that’s the logo seems to match. I recall there being a push on these in the press in 96/97 so potentially then?

If “vintage” means over 20 years old - which some people think it does - then it actually is...

Even in my world there's a dividing line between lash-up, bodge, and repair.

Nice to know is has those 100% original chicken heads, though.

Yes - sorry, I should have put a smiley on that! I certainly don't...

It's also funny that he describes the guitar as vintage and the case as modern, when they're actually contemporary with each other - although I'm pretty sure these came with gig bags, so it's not the original case.
