Selling my early Chinese built Squier Strat.
It’s a 50th Anniversary model, from 96.
Although scruffy and showing its age, this Strat plays superbly. The neck feels more like an old Fender than Squier. Frets are good and very comfortable under the fingers. Fret board is a dark, grainy Rosewood, with smooth rolled edges.
The white finish has started to age to a creamy sort of colour, as has the guard. The body finish has plenty of dinks and dents, that a previous owner has attempted to repair. There is also some discolouration to the guard, where a sticker has been removed. I thought maybe I would give it a refin but decided to just live with the vintage/roadworn vibe.
Truss rod functions as it should and the relief is set perfectly.
The controls are all fine with no crackling.
The pickups are punchy, it sounds like a Strat should.
Trem arm functions as it should and strings stay in tune.
Set up with a nice low action and a new set of D’addarios.
Asking £110.00. Collected, I’m in Herts.
If posting is required the Courier charge will be an additional £16.99.
Please note: I don’t have a case, therefore if posting, I would prefer to remove the neck, bubble wrap and then box it up.
