Supro Statesman 50w

I've been looking at the Supro Statesman head and loving the selection of clean and dirty tones it can offer. 

I'm planning a trip to Andertons to try one out in the flesh before pulling the plug.

Is there anyone out there who has tried one? Ideally I'd like to set the red channel as a pushed clean, then the blue channel as my main crunchy rhythm tone, boosted with an OD for higher gain, is that possible or will the red break up too soon keeping up with the blue channel so high?

I haven't played any Supro amps myself, but seem to remember them being commented on here as pretty poorly built considering the price of them. Perhaps it was @ICBM ?
