Electro music has closed?

I’ve just seen a couple of post on FB suggesting that Electromusic in Doncaster has gone bust and closed.    Their website is down.  
A very sad day if it’s true - I haven’t been in there for a while but it used to be one of my favourite shops with a decent selection and nice helpful chaps working there.

Weird - I just found out last night that Nick's Guitars in Yorkshire is closing this month, too.  He's blaming currency issues and the CITES stuff:

Why are the prices on that site in dollars? Seems odd if they're in Yorkshire.

A friend of mine knows Nick Leggett well - he’s effectively retiring. I spoke to him about a year ago about selling a vintage guitar for me and he told me he was likely to be closing soon.

Nick’s Guitars have a Casio DG20 listed as one of their remaining stock of guitars. I look at quirks like this and think of @HarrySeven . Who doesn’t?

Same here, not been for a while. It’s just out of the way enough to be awkward, but worth it if you made the effort. A real shame if it’s gone!

On that theme, how the **** does CITES affect a Casio DG-20?

Same here, not been for a while. It’s just out of the way enough to be awkward, but worth it if you made the effort. A real shame if it’s gone!

I live in East Yorkshire and for many years it was the place everyone used to go to rather than local shops as they had the stock and all sorts of interesting gear.   
Cracking shop in it’s heyday but I suspect they couldn’t compete with online sales - their website was never a strong part of the business imo.

No difference - customs still impound and destroy them as they always have done

I spent many a Saturday afternoon of my youth in Electro. It used to be packed on a Saturday as well. Shame.

i also bought a Strat from Nick a few years ago, lovely guy.
