Without coming across all George Clarke  - - I have been contemplating building a residential Log Cabin since 1980!

As such I have always has an eye on the cabin market and have changed views over time. I have a massive 'MOOD' file as I still hope to accomplish this in the future. BUT I also pondered over a studio in my wood attached to my garden for both music and alternative accommodation. The land falls away so would need to be piled and in previous massive storms there has been some tree falls, which made me reconsider this spot for the cabin with all my gear in it!

Then when it became obvious that I needed to replace my shed/wood shed I thought of an Oak clad building instead - away from tree fall danger. However as this is closer to the house, I didn't feel a 'Log' cabin style suitable.

A couple of pics of the styles I would have gone for both locations below. I did think originally I wanted real 9" round LOGS, but the interiors tend to be very dark and heavy and rather cliched in style options and you lose a lot of usable floor space from your already limited allowable footprint.

If you want me to winzip my 35mb of mood boards and other files and stick them on googledrive you more than welcome to peruse them.
