Amazing player but the fact he clearly had his stylist come over beforehand to dress like half an ostrich is a bit embarrassing. I guess that's why I'm not a hotshot on the LA rock scene :(

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

I was more interested in HRC's expensive tastes in wall decoration than in the ability of Mister 5 to extract some choice sounds.

I saw that a while back. Great vid. The presenter is an ass though.

@soma1975 I’m pretty sure that’s how John 5 dresses. Not all guitarists wear jeans and leather jackets.

He very clearly is one of that bunch that have a rock n roll stylist. All the rage in LA.

No I think John 5 is just a bit out there in his taste.........I've seen footage of his home ...it's very eclectic and arty in style

In addition to being a very good player, John 5 in interviews and videos always comes across as a genuinely modest, nice guy. I remember reading a magazine interview with him - quite a few years ago but obviously at a point in his career where guitar magazines wanted to interview him. In it he said that when he was on tour and arrived in a new place he would look up local guitar teachers and take a lesson, because there was always something new he could learn from another musician. That's a class act.

I saw that video where he critiqued some YouTubers who covered some of his songs and he came across like a really nice guy.  Wasn't just like: "Oh isn't that good?" he seemed genuinely appreciative of people covering his work.  The little lick he does with his tele tuned to open E (19:53 on the video) is really cool.

That lick is from one of his songs called “Behind the nut love”
