This amazing Gibson porn turned up for sale in local FB instrument buy/sell group.

wide neck 68, j200...  Here is link to add from where he bought the guitar.  Stunning and seems decent enough price at £4750 (well looking at price of some, not that I'd pay that hahahaha cos i'm skint and well poor)

The Rolls Royce of acoustic guitars and one of the best examples you will find out there. Previous owner bought this from the famous New York store Matt Umanov guitars which recently closed for business. Shop sticker is still on the back of the headstock so comes with a little bit of history.
Guitar is immaculate, amazing to play and has an incredible and powerful sound.
No structural issue, cracks or repairs of any kind.
There is a broken bridge pin but a set of period correct replacements come with the guitar.
The soundhole label has fallen out over time, seems to be common issue with Gibson acoustics of this era, there are many other examples online the same.
Nut width is 1 11/16 so not a skinny neck model which came just after this and is less desirable.
Comes with a later 70s case

Not keen on the bridge - it looks like a comedy moustache.

That and its probs beat place to advertise and find out about local gigs these days... Was a stunning 335 on that group other week too.  Dark cherry/burgandy colour 70's with vibrola (yes i know the 335 purists will hate it and oh the tone loss) but it was stunning and a good pile of my fave 335 tones came from 70's vibrola equipped 335's

  • There have been a few good things recently-
Steph Carter (from Gallows) own Blacktop Jazzmaster is VERY tempting.
There was a vintage LP Jr a month back too.

It's almost the Pete Townsend "Tommy & Who's Next" guitar and the George Harrison "Here Comes The Sun" model. Just missing the Tune-o-matic bridge.

What's with the stinger? I didn't realise they ended up putting them on acoustics

It does make me chuckle when people say somethings a decent price but then say but I wouldn't pay it. Lol

I wouldn't pay it 1. because I don't have the money and 2. I am not in market for an acoustic let alone a vintage one.  But for someone in market for somethjng like this then most adverts seem to be asking higher amounts so in grand scheme someone looking for a vintage j200 it probs isn't a bad starting point for asking price (though expect a wee haggle too). 3. If i had the money it would be going on a 335 or similar

I don't think it's odd. I've recently been made aware that "the" 1956 Les Paul Custom I should have bought in 1999 has been put up for sale by the chap who bought it when I didn't.

He's asking £17K, which I think is a decent price for a guitar which a dealer would probably list at £25K, but... I wouldn't pay that sort of money for any guitar, not even that one.

You can easily admire something and think it's a lower than expected price, without being able to afford or justify buying it.
