SOLD Modded Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 w/ WGS G12C/S speakers - dropped to £400
For sale/trade: Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 (Made in Mexico) with dust cover & switch pedal.
The amp is in decent cosmetic condition with the most noticeable wear being on the back chromeplate - as visible in the picture. The internal circuity is nonetheless working as it should - the amp was serviced & modified by Greg @ London Guitar Aid in June 2017.
For complete disclosure, the modifications to the stock model include:
- A pair of WGS G12C/S speakers (with a smooth cone to tame harsh upper frequencies)
- A pair JJ 12AX7 valves

Other modifications were performed for greater tonal flexibility. These are popular fixes well known among HRD owners and include:
- Twin stack mod (to keep lower mids under control, and to be able to dial in proper fender blackface tones)
- Master volume with audio taper pot (to make the volume transition more gradual, and enable to play the amp at bedroom volumes)
- Reverb mod (to make it less washy and more controllable)
- Brightness mod (to retain highs at low volumes and avoid the amp sounding too muddy)
