Its been a while since I did any making...  Mostly as I am just busy with other things in life right now.. None of it nice, but I really want to start getting back in to my work again.

Today I did some very basic work for my parents...  Just filling a gap above the oven, cos its smaller than the old one and left a gap..

Heres what I did (but not really the main point of the thread) and yes theres meant to be a bit of a gap so the hot air can come out.

Now the actual point of the thread..  Ive had a couple of cans of Tru Oil sitting about for a while now but as ive never used it before I was hesitant to use it on an actual build and always just went with the standard bottle.. But since this bit of wood needs a finish I decided finally to try it out.

And I have to say I was quite impressed.. Really easy to use, very self levelling, and it does seem that it has no amber tint at all which I find odd.. They must be using a completely different formula to the standard bottled stuff.

This was after just one coat.

So yes... I will be using it on my next build as I was pretty happy with how it all went on...
