I just took a pen and wrote abigail ybarra on the bottom of the pickups. I can't believe the difference in tone.

Anyone else got any tips?

What kind of pen was it? If it wasn't a reliced Bic biro then you're just kidding yourself.

My simple trick is to give it to someone else to play.

I would have thought that you might have tried initials first.

I usually find making the guitar look like it’s a hundred years old makes it sound amazing.

Take a compass and scratch 'Bare Knuckle' in to the bottom of your baseplates. Congrats, now you can be Internet forum popular.

Searching out rare paper in oil capacitors made by 100 year old Tibetan monks, from ancient Egyptian papyrus and the oil extracted from extinct seeds is a sure fire way to give a guitar the edge in tone over go faster stripes or fancy graphics.

Works for me, too. There must be something in it.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I have a room in my house that can only be accessed by a hidden door, in the room it is 1954, the wiring and the amps are lethal and all the gear is painted in toxic paint.

After an hour in there everything sounds authentic but your head hurts,

I use a glitter pen and write SRV across my scratch plate. Suddenly any twelve bar blues I play turns me into a musical genius. You should try it. (Bootlace tie and Stetson optional)

My guitar always sounds much better when I plug it into an amp. Who knew?!

    Interesting.

The same is certainly not true for every guitar player.

She didnt use a pen .It was signed in  her blood  mixed  with diamond dust .Must have been judging by the prices paid for a pretty standard Fender single coil pickup.
It helps tone if you drink water from genuine  lead pipes too.

I find there's one simple thing that can make my guitar sound better:

    Reaper

There's nothing better than knowing you can copy and paste the one good take, delete handling noise, reamp infinitely safe in the knowledge you can EQ the fuck out of it to get rid of horrible frequencies from the awful tone you dialled in...

    This thread is clickbait!

More like a comedy forum than a guitar site.

I always find scratching off any old stickers that obscure the serial number makes a positive difference....

Do you need to install said pickups in the guitar? Asking for a friend.
