Nah, it's perfectly natural. I recently bought @prudd's L2-20 Avalon. It's a thing of true beauty, it sounds glorious and it plays just the way I hoped my Brook would.

I now have not one, but two Avalons, not one but two self-made acoustics that (even if I say so myself) sound lovely and warm and deep, despite how scruffy they look.

And yet, and yet...

I still hanker after a Brook.

I've always liked the Tavy as a strumming guitar. The Taw isn't as resonant when played hard. One day...  I think a Tavy would make a nice 12-string guitar.

Funnily enough, the Brook i already own is a Tavy (yew b&s, walnut neck). I had thoight a different shape was the way to go, for varieties sake. But perhaps a 12 string version would complement nicely?

I played one like that in Project Music about 2 years ago. Really liked it, but could only afford one guitar and bought the Taw. Is it the same one, by any chance?

Very unlikely, as the Tavy I have is about 15 years old

But yew is a beautiful timber for acoustics, and the guitar itself a lovely warm tone. Im fairly rubbish at describing sounds, but it strums very well indeed!

I guess not, then! :-) Yes, I'd never played a guitar made from yew before. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how much difference the wood makes, or why, but it sounded smooth and balanced.

Teign’s aren’t that common, I didn’t buy one off here. I’ve always liked cash, Dylan, young.... but every Martin I’ve played just sounded ‘thin’. Odd j35/45/50 I’ve played have been great, but a lot Gibson acoustic are frankly not for me. The brook has similar Martin sound but better mid range, sweet hit hard and it really does go load. Playability is second to none, unless you like thick chunky necks. Go and try some

Yes, it was a custom order - I popped down to their workshop and picked out the b&s yew, with a walnut centre block. Walnut neck with rosewood strip, anjan fingerboard (superbly reddish-brown-speckled dense timber) and a marquetry inlay of a beach on Skye that I made and sent down to them to incorporate.

If you are ever up near Stirling, you are most welcome to try it out.
