Boss DD-2 issue

JohnnysevenJohnnyseven Frets: 908
I was at rehearsal last night and while I was playing a very loud noise started coming from my amp. The noise was like the noise you get when plugging a cable into the amp and touching the end of the cable but really loud. We trouble shooted and the issue seemed to be stemming from my Boss DD-2. Any idea what could be causing the issue?

Very likely an electrolytic cap failure. These pedals are more than thirty years old now, and the caps fail just like they do in amps.

I thought it might be that as i've heard that they can fail. I couldn't find any info on what happens when they fail though so wasn't sure if it's the cause.

Turned out to be a shoddy cable issue, not the pedal. 30+ year old DD2 is still going strong!
