I reckon some decent, wide, double-sided tape would have been fine.  A bit of a pain to remove compared to the dual-lock stuff but I think it would have worked well.

I could always MIG weld the case to the shelf.  It wouldn’t slide off then.

The suggestion by ICBM to mount using the 'feet' bolts of the unit would be first if it'd intended to be permanant or go on the road. A common method I've seen is to drill holes in the shelp and cable tie the unit down (avoiding sockets and controls). It works, is simple and can be removed easily without marking the unit.

Alas, there are just stick-on rubber squares for feet.  No holes.  In any case the low-profile Dual-Lock stuff arrived this morning.  Wow.  It’s amazing!  Zero wobble factor.  I will definitely be using this for my pedal board, when I get around to replacing the tatty old plank of ply I’ve used for years.
