They've obviously swerved the idea of putting the Gibson logo on :) A lot of money...

So he actually plays eruption on the top price one, and you get a video clip of it with all the other goodies...that's quite cool, but still an amazing amount of money (probably sold all 8 of them by now ;-) ).

money grabbing distasteful-ness at its very best.

With a great deal of irony in that a cobbled together bitsa “fuck-you” guitar, by one of the guitar worlds true innovators, is now asking £25k for for a replica of said guitar so that you can be the most accurate copyist. I wonder what his younger self would have said.

Honestly, they must sit in board rooms dreaming how to rip off mug customers.

    Nah, I’m good, thanks!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I would just ignore these and build my own, but then I would say that about Fender Custom Shop guitars as well. They are all churned out with a load of bollocks marketing behind them.

When was that original guitar ever nicknamed "Eruption"? About 5 mins before the marketing genius announced his new scheme to the Board?

Why is there a tin of oil included, I've never heard anybody refer to it before.

If he only plays one guitar and all eight lucky owners are given the same video, how would anybody know? :)

Wasn't his original guitar just a parts-caster type of thing? Maybe a very good one, but still!

You should have to produce a video of yourself playing Eruption before you're allowed to buy one.

For oiling the brass nut, presumably?

I can't deny this is a cool thing but it's purely a device for extracting money out of obsessive collectors.  The guitar equivalent of those super-deluxe vinyl-plus-CD-plus-Blu-ray-plus-fake-tattoos-plus-bottle-opener box set album reissues.

As a guitar it can't even claim to be immaculately crafted from premium components and the finest tonewoods, because it's not even supposed to be.

Still, I'll save copies of the pictures.

You should also have flared jeans, a stripey shirt, no trace of a beer gut and a bloody impressive head of hair.

Get a strat type body, a maple neck with decent frets, single bucker plate and pick up of choice, a floyd  oh and some black tape. Then practise like ****. Your about there without losing alot of beer tokens and, potentially, your sanity. Having said all that, good luck to them , there will be plenty of takers .

Why is the graphic on the 78 Eruption slightly different to the other two? Is that authentic?

Looks superb, especially the relic one. I wouldn't own one as I can't play like EVH
