What frustrates me more than anything is, he already has a great enclosure design why does he have to rip me off.? And what is it with people called mason in this industry?

Yeah at best that's "inspired by", but more like taking the piss. 

If that's prototyping perhaps you could point out that to avoid "confusion" he could stick to his current enclosure design.

Copyright exists in an artistic work as soon as it is created, you don’t have to “copyright” it. A design however (which is what I think Thorpy’s distinctive look falls under) can be protected by registration.
