**SOLD** 1989 Gibson Country Gent Semi Acoustic Electric Guitar Chet Atkins £1600 inc UK P&P and assuming PPG etc

Serial: 81029556
Built in: 12-apr-1989 (serial: 556) (Manufactured in Nashville)

In excellent condition for a 28 year old guitar.

50+ photos here and here

Includes original shroud case.

Unusual Gibson semi with a 25.5 inch scale length and 1 3/4 inch nut. An interesting article about this model https://uniqueguitar.blogspot.com/2012/04/gibson-chet-atkins-country-gentleman.html

Structurally: excellent, crack in nut and truss rod cover (looks like the truss rod cover was fitted slightly too close to the nut so once screwed down the cover pushed into the nut cracking both the nut and edge of the cover) nut is still secure and functions as it should.

Finish: very clean, a few very minor surface swirls here and there but no dings or chips. Crack in finish coming from jack socket, slight finish cracks along neck joint, minor checking to headstock face.

Hardware: original tuners in full working order complete with fold out winding arms for quick string changes, strap locks currently fitted but original strap buttons included, currently fitted with a Schaller roller bridge (original included but missing one saddle), Bigsby missing most of its gold plating with a one inch spring fitted (original 3/4 spring included).

Electronics: original pickups missing most of their gold plating, neck pickup out of phase like the Peter Green Les Paul (this appears to be the pickup itself being magnetically out of phase rather than a wiring modification). Wiring has been recently sympathetically restored back to the original scheme using quality replacement pots, jack socket and braided cable. Original selector switch and knobs.

Any questions please ask, ideally after a sale but open to trades.
