Gibson 1969 Cherry - Instant Angus! Moosive Price Drop followed by small price drop. Sold

I've decided to put up for sale my Gibson SG Standard - reason for sale, I want to try and pickup an early 60s version instead - whilst they're still under 20k!

This is a cracking example of a late 60's SG - anyone who came to the recent jam would have heard it on 'White Room', just a joy to play with all the sounds you'd expect.

Guitar is very close to completely original - has original tuners, frets (yes never been refretted - and there's still quite a bit of life yet), pots, bridge etc. The only changes from the original is it looks like the neck pickup has been out at some time from the solder, and the trem arm (just the arm) is a Gibson Historic re-issue.

No headstock/heel breaks etc.

Comes complete in the original hardcase which is in pretty good condition - one broken catch (which I have), but functional.

Of it's type - it's hard to imagine a better example to be honest, with the PAT number ('T Top' I'm guessing) pickups, it really is a cracking blues/rock guitar, and if you're not after divebombs you can even use the trem.

Not after any trades, and I would ship at cost - obviously would prefer pickup from Central London, so you can see the guitar first.

Any questions please ask - £3900 firm

Bump - just to repeat myself, this is upper end players grade - no breaks at all, no refret, no changed tuners.

    Open to reasonable offers

Birth year guitar for me - always fancied getting a 69 SG for my 50th too.

    That's absolutely beautiful!

I've read '69 was the changeover year for the nut width on these, reverting back to 1:11/16ths.

What does yours measure ?  It looks great and with the Maestro just what I'm looking for but too deep for my pocket, unfortunately .....glwts !

It’s 38mm,  not sure what that translates to!

Neck is interesting, quite a deep ‘D’ which thickens up quite a bit from the 12th fret, certainly not a thin narrow thing
