Amazon Prime Day - Cheap Donner Pedals and Hideous Gibsons

What's Hot

Amazon have a bunch of cheap pedals up for grabs...

Donner Yellow Fall Delay is in my shopping cart for £17. There’s a digital reverb for £28 but I am holding out for my Mad Professor 1. I’d be interesting in the Donner DP-2 but the sod is 2cm too long for my Pedlaboard Nano+. Swine.

Again there’s money off Gibson (#firesale) including £343 for a hideous Citron Green Melody Maker and £559 for a Rose Gold Les Paul Custom Special. Sodding horrible both of them. Higher up the food chain there’s a fetching Demin Blue Custom Studio for £698 and LP Studio for £1119 in vintage sunburst. Still they’re Gibson so money better spent on a PRS regardless...

The Yellow Fall is a good delay but you can get it for same or cheaper direct off Aliex.

    I don't think so (?)

I was looking at them for a while and they were £113, then they dropped to £111. That was without a case.

Camelcamelcamel says they haven't been under £100 since 2016.

Fair enough. I guess I got a perfectly ordinary, bog standard deal then.

No, I was saying you’d got a good deal - £111ish is the normal price now and has been for quite a while. (Maybe 2015 is recent to some but it feels like prehistory to me, especially given what has happened since).

Can't remember how much I paid but they are great headphones. I sold a pair of headphones that cost more than twice as much cause I preferred those.

I bought the same headphones, they're the gunmetal grey ones which are a bit more expensive than the cheaper black ones but do come with the hard case. The price is back up to £135, so based on that, a smidge over 25% off.

Ah, gotya. So maybe I didn't do too bad then

It was the gunmetal grey ones I got and they do appear to have gone up to £135 now, though as I say, the black ones are £111 and a case can be had for £8.99, so not too much more.

I've been looking at these for a while, since my Sennheiser HD-380s got broken.

Not that there was anything wrong with the old ones, but I fancied trying these. For one thing, I like the detachable cable and the fact it comes with a straight cable 1.2m long, which is ideal for when I'm sat at the desk, not having to have miles of spare curly cable all over the place.
    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

    Isn’t 749 quite a good price for a 2018 goldtop les paul?

    It is.

I'd urge anyone buying it to thoroughly check it for any quality issues before doing anything that would prevent you returning it.

PS the Yellow Fall seems pretty good. The time knob is a bit... haughty but it does the job.
