Bassman 59ri vs JTM 45

How much of a difference is there? 

If I am running my JTM45 through a 2x12 cab would there be a big difference in tone to the Bassman through its 4X10 combo and if I was to put the JTM through a 4x10 would it be closer still? 

The reason I ask is I’m thinking of grabbing a Bassman 59ri but wonder if it’s just too close to what I have?

    Not that much difference if you're running them through similar speakers/cabs. The Bassman is a little looser and more open, the Marshall is a little tighter and crunchier.
