    No idea why my phone camera makes the horizontal lines appear curved towards the centre. Probably just a crappy lens. 

    Lenses on phone cameras are usually slightly 'fish-eye' and tend to pull the centre of the picture forward. This is why portraits taken with a phone often go a bit Bazza Manilow.
