if you got into pedal building through any of the key sites (diystompboxes, freestompboxes, guitarfxlayouts, madbean) then it's a near certainty that you will have had (positive) contact with Dino, either directly or indirectly, during your expolartion and self-education.

he has made it a personal quest to dig up particularly fascinating vintage pedals (shinei, univox, all manner of obscure crazy noise boxes) pull them apart, document his discoveries for the pedal building community, then produce schematics and layouts so others can have the pleasure of owning and playing these long lost freaks of the stompbox universe.

and beyond his personal quest, he actually takes a hugely supportive and encouraging role on those mentioned forums, explaining ideas and concepts behind pedal science to newbies and experimenters, just for the pure pleasure of putting something back into the community from which he has learned. he's basically a lovely man and an important figure in the stompbox community.

long story short, he has health problems and the community are coming together to support him.
