Ahhhhh Freqout :)

What's Hot

Just wondered if I could ask some Digitech Freqout users out there. I've been kindly loaned a Freqout pedal just to see if I like it and if I do I can purchase it. Just a question though. Can anyone get the Gary Moore type sustained notes out of it or is that going too far far this pedal? I know it's not a freeze pedal  but thought I'd be able to get a longer feedback sustain than I'm getting. It seems to die in a crackly haze on some settings such as the Nat Harmonic setting, when the signal starts to die I guess?

Is this normal?

I’ll just ask the usual is getting enough power question. Is it getting enough power? About 50% of all internet discussions around the Freqout are about it not working as you think it will because it doesn’t have it’s full 235ma.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Plenty of power yes. Being powered by a Zuma from one output. All works as expected just wondered if it was normal with the above explanation etc?

No one else? Maybe it's quite normal then. I like what it does what I've found so far :)

Didn't Gary use a cranked Marshall and a guvnor or something?
The end result was a shit tonne of gain either way
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

Saw your PM as well but I've been at the Huddersfield jam and haven't been checking in.

That's normal. Its a feedback simulator and it needs a tone to generate the feedback and if your fretted note dies off, the feedback will also die. If you put your compressor before it you'll get a longer note. You can also raise the gain control on the pedal itself.

I use mine to start feedback more easily at lowish stage volumes and then normal physics takes over!

I would very much like to hear the Freqout into a Thermae, so if someone with both could get on that for me, that would be great

If only life (and pedals) were that simple. It's this:

Just imagine the feedback being scattered off in different sequenced pitches.
