Will this guitar last long or explode?

Looks like the tail thingy is crushing the end in but my question is what will happen if you just leave it would it be playable as it is
e.g. will it be possible to tune ?

It's probably taken it forty years to get like that, and may have been strung with heavy vintage strings for most of that time, so on balance I would say not likely to explode any time soon...

It won't be fixable without a complete rebuild which would be totally uneconomical, but it should be playable.

Thanks  ,it's a shame it got in a state like that as it's Brazilian rosewood back and sides but probably laminate.
