im looking to refret my les Paul from December. Ideally looking for a recommended luthier who can do a good job in the bath / bristol area. Any recommendations? Rather not have to travel too far so London area is going to be out tbh

Sorry I can't recall his name but a repair guy at Corsham has a good reputation

Sorry I don't know anyone else in the area but Jon @feline guitars in London and @steverobinson at Manchester are excellent

If you don't mind a trip to Caerphilly then get in touch with Glyn Withers, either via his Boutique Guitars facebook page or if you PM me I'll pass his deets on.

Top guy, incredibly friendly but most importantly his work is incredible and he does it for the love so his prices are very, very reasonable.

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Just for the record it wasn't a bad job he did for me so not his skill that was in question. Not worth going into but just lost a bit of faith

Yes he does work for G&H and I believe ATB Guitars - If the guitar job was okay, then I guess the issue was time scale - If so, and this is from years of experience at my end, that  many one man band guitar repairers can do a good job - the issue with some is that when you say go to collect the guitar, you don't pick it up and leave - You might have a coffee and a chat for 30 mins - That is a total time raider to the repair guy - 2 or 3 of these a day and he looses 90 mins of unpaid work time - as such the job promised for tomorrow at 10am now might be behind schedule - So my advise is a) don' expect it to be on time b) if you want it on time then make sure both parties can work to this and agree it - And how urgent is it ? - For bedroom players it might be important but not urgent - In time for a world tour then totally urgent

Hopefully you'll have something else to use in the meantime - But be patient and ensure both parties have agreed a good guide line schedule - Might not be your experience of Andy @hotpickups but still good advise to others
