Peavey Deuce, I want to run a pedal through one channel then switch to another channel

So my amp can switch between channels and even combine the two, is it possible to run a pedal through one channel and not through the other but still switch between the two via the amps pedal switch? So, channel one is through an overdrive but channel two is clean? Can that be done? Probably the wrong section but I thought you FX guys might have already figured this out.

Assuming channel switching is controlled by a regular TRS jack you could probably do it with a loop switcher like the BOSS ES series (which is definitely not the cheapest option, just an example). You could program two different presets, one for each channel, with the pedal on in one instance and off in the other.

Considering the cost and commitment to a particular working method it seems to me like a real "sledgehammer to crack a nut" scenario, but off hand I don't know of a simpler, cheaper way to do it.
