    Same reason why bald television weather presenters wear loud ties - to distract the viewer's eye away from the top of the head. 

    Notice how, this time around, the headstock does not appear in the photographs. 

    The only genuine Squier component is the Silver Series bridge. An unmolested Silver Series neck would be worth acquiring - especially if it were in good condition and came with the original Gotoh tuners.

    The seller has been attempting to shift that monstrosity for over a year. Chances are, if the neck is fit for purpose, an offer for it would be accepted.
