Seen this on eBay, I'm selling an SG soon and want a case to hand it over in.

Anyone got one, seen, used one etc?

I have a customer that ships guitars up to me for pickups, he was using Spider but not anymore. The ones he had were the ali ones, they dent easily and one of the locks failed, with the guitar locked inside....having said that they're cheap enough!

I have a pedal board case and it is bomb proof!

Not sure about the guitar cases but I am more than impressed with the quality on the pedal board/flight case.

Black Rat cases can be had around the £40 mark from PMT. That should house an SG

The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I got an XL Flight Case Pedal Board case from them and after 3 months they finally admitted fault for sending me a broken item.  I fixed it myself and argued the point over principle.

    I'll never use again personally.

I have one for my LP Special - I gig it weekly and its been fine for the last six months.

Its no better than the TKL in real terms - perhaps not as well finished and the inside smelled a bit nasty on delivery. But great for the cash

I got a couple of cases from them and they have been fine but I recently used Castle and the service, help, advice, friendliness and and pure professionalism was outstanding. They also did me a deal for collecting and paying in cash. They will be my go to flight case company from now on.

I have a few Spider Engineering cases.
THey are good for light - medium duty but they don't stand up to touring.

Cheers for all the feedback. Looks like they are more than adequate to sell with and ship in if necessary.

Whatever case you use, make absolutely certain that the end of the headstock doesn't touch the back of the case even if pressure is put on the case - put a pad under the neck if you have to, even if that makes the neck press against the top of the case - and slacken the strings.

And don't send it by Parcel Farce.

I've toured with some Spider pedalboard cases and the hinges were like they were made of cheese, rubbish.

That said the Flightcase Warehouse brand of cases (same company) are top notch quality.

Recently flew back from Japan and the Heathrow baggage handlers obviously took umbrage to the amount of guitars we had and one case (an FW guitar case) came through check in looking like someone had been at it with an Axe! The guitar inside remained unscathed though.

Well have to say I am really disappointed with Flightcase Warehouse customer service - I have a problem with a LP hard case from them - heres what happened:  I checked on one of my guitars been sitting in hardcase for a few months - took her out and noticed the nitrocellulose finish on an area of the neck had blistered / melted /reacted with something (see photos) and noticed where the neck was resting on the case compartment tab handle was the area damaged - same place shape etc.

    Here's the photos

So contacted Flightcase Warehouse to explain the problem and sent photos etc.
And I got this response from them:

    "Hi,
Having looked at the photos requested, I can clearly see there is an issue, however I cannot see how the tab would have caused the damage as there is no residue on the tab, which there would be if it had caused the varnish to melt.
We have sold 100’s of this model case over the last 5 years with no issues, so I am afraid we cannot help in this matter and there must be another reason for the issue.
    Best regards"

Not good customer service - anyway I was then told to return the case for 'inspection' - but they refused to pay for return postage costs.

Few emails back and forth and and not getting anywhere then I recieved this email:

    "Hi
I will not cover the repair of the guitar.
I will only cover the case cost."

Really unhappy as my guitar has been clearly damaged by the Flightcase Warehouse hardcase tab - but they don't care and don't wnat to offer any compensation towards the repair.

I have one of those Spider mock Croc LP cases and it stinks. I thought it would subside but no, and I've tried everything to alleviate it without any luck. Really harsh chemical smell.

I can't be arsed to send it back, just using it to carry Epi LP to jam sessions.
