I’m loving the colour co-ordination. Nice collection.
    Thank you,

It's making me smile that when people ask what kind of guitars I like I can say...
"It's all there in black and white, like writing on the wall"

I've got some artwork to go up and then trying to tackle the dark art of sound treatment/bass traps next.
I'll take some better photos when the room is less chaotic and the walls aren't so bare.

  • Im stuck at home with the lurgy, so I thought I’d do be of these. I haven’t done a full group shot for a good few years now.

    So the electrics …

    Left to right

Audition 7001 short scale.  Mainly for slide
    Shergold Meteor (1976)
    Westone Thunder Jet
Spongebob!  (Now officially claimed by Fredette #2)
    Kawai Aquarius AQ555
    Japanese Squier Stratocaster
    Gibson Les Paul R8
    Squier Hello Kitty
    Charvel 375 deluxe
    Partscaster

    And the others

    Yamaha CPX10
    Almaria classical
    Peavey Milestone 3 bass
Baby Taylor (actually Fredette #1 owns this but never plays it)
Yamaha apx5a. (In the classifieds for a bargain!)

I’m afraid that I’ve had my R8 for a few years now. I’m pretty happy about that or I’d have been itching like crazy to join in with the current group~think R8 feeding frenzy! I’m really not surprised people have been buying them up. Lovely guitars.

  • I haven't got a group shot of my current lot, but here are a couple from a while back...

And yes, that wallpaper is hideous - it was there when I moved into the house, but it's gone now!

I haven't actually got any of those guitars any more... I'll do a group shot of the current family once the Performance is back together - it's currently in bits, ready to be a new colour :)
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

From your guitar selection I am going to guess you play country and western?
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

My name is Martin and I'm a guitar collector -aholic.

    Truly speechless.

    And you play drums!

I like the Explorer shape at the back of the sofa.

I saw that and thought, why have they given their guitars a dusting of flour?

Sadly not (at least not for now). When that SG came out it was a complete impulse buy. You see them all the time in cherry etc but the white is pretty special to me.

I have thought about moving it on in the past, but can't quite bring myself to it.

We just moved and I'm getting a new room sorted out, so all the guitars are on the chrome metal restaurant shelves (in cases of course).  I'm going to build similar shelves to the ones I used to have:
