Gibson SG Standard 2018 - am I abusing it?

Blatant show-boating, apologies!  

But at last nights gig I was so pleased with my lead tone, had to share.  This is the guitar solo I wrote to the end of PINK's Don't Let Me Get Me, complete with my cheeky one handed finale lol. 

Were SG's meant to be played like this?

It was one of those pubs where, if you make eye contact with anyone, you're in for trouble.  We were in and out ASAP!

I mean that’s the definition of a “I wanna be the centre of attention” solo but all I could see was the singer! 

Good playing, good tone but if you pulled back a bit you’d be even better and have better band harmony to boot! She was giving you daggers! I don’t blame her either because as a singer in a single guitar band, when the guitarist goes off on one for too long, it takes more concentration to listen to the bass/drums to make sure you come back in at the right place or add some vocal fills in the right place. 

You looked like you were having fun though!

Ah she loves it,  she requested big solos in these songs. It's a set composition so same every time.  Normally I run out in to the crowd to play them but this particular pub was a bit dodgy looking so we stayed where we were and kept our heads down.   I have about 4 of these similar pieces in other songs too   Yes cracking dress that night indeed
