Won't they always be just that little bit out of tune though? Just enough to be annoying ;-)
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • "These strings are a painstaking recreation of Jimi’s beloveds"

No, they're a painless and arguably arbitrary selection of gauges.

  • The unusual gauges are intended to compensate for the tension issues created by an upside headstock.

Strictly speaking, if Hendrix played left-handed using right-handed strings, to recreate the full effect for right-handed guitarists, these strings should be wrapped left-handed.*

    * This gag may possibly have appeared in Guitarist magazine in the late Eighties. ;)

And Charles Shaar Murray probably still cracks himself up telling it at parties.

I have always liked the thought of lighter low E and A  strings and heavier High E and B string , on an electric it kind of makes more sense to me.

  • So I guess this set is designed to work on normal headstocks not reverse jobbies.

I recall selling the original Fender Rock n Roll sets that used this gauge - F150

Interesting for a guy who had such big hands and de-tuned that he would need such a gauge and .38" on the Low E - But years ago I sold quite a few of this gauge but almost un-heard of since

If you sent a set back would it be a Slight Return?

You'd have to beat the Crosstown Traffic to get them back in time. They might Fire the poor sod who accepts the return.

Only if you sent back one or two of the set.

They dont really cost that much more than regular strings, the Hendrix connection is sales blurb, its the gauges they are selling, I might try a set next change just to give the lighter gauges a try, I always find my E and A strings to be too low sounding, I always wondered how players could use the E and A strings without having them sound too loud and bassy (is that even a word?) compared to the rest of the strings, perhaps these are the answer.

I would quite like to be able to do a comparison just to see how differently they sounded but (even if I could be bothered with the re-stringing and setting up etc.) I couldn't justify paying for strings just to use for a few minutes to try it out.

Maybe you could post some videos of comparison between your current strings then the new ones?
