I know it's not really answering the original question but why not put it in the FB classifieds as a 'for sale or trade' item?

It will go in there now that I know the trade is not possible. I want to hang on to it as a gigging/back up amp until December though. I wouldn't have shifted it either way until near end of year.

simple answer? ask them, they nay say no ar they may do a trade with some cash either way. No harm asking
