NGD... I just couldn't resist

What's Hot
So after posting a while back that I needed a superstrat with a fixed bridge, and then buying a Jackson DK2 from @bloodandtears, I've realised two things:

1. I don't need a guitar with a fixed bridge at all
2. I'm not bonding with the Jackson

I went to @peachguitarsdotcom for the first time today (definitely won't be the last time though), and had a play with a few bits and pieces (including a Katana 50, but that's not the point of this thread). I'd been looking at the Squier Contemporary Active Strats online and liked the look, so I tried one... it felt more at home than the Jackson, so I pulled the trigger.

It's actually the first Strat I've ever owned... from comments I've seen on here recently. I'm expecting to be told that the headstock is the wrong shape/too big/upside down, or that it's not a real Strat... but I don't care :)

Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

  • Dude that's not a strat the headstock...

    Looks great to me!
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

They're really good actually. Active, with a battery compartment on the back. When I get my Performance back I'll do a proper comparison with a set of EMGs, but first impressions are very positive

Oh cool, active squiers! :) That comparison would be interesting.

I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.
