    Peavey T60.

    An absolute 70s classic.

  • How about a Kramer Aluminium necked guitar - bit cheaper than the Travis Bean models - also very 70s :) and you don't see them much
I'm always looking for interesting USA Hamers for sale.

At the moment I'm looking for:
    * Hamer Watson, SS2, Vintage S, T62.
    * Music Man Luke 1, Luke II

    Please drop me a message.

a Yamaha SG1000/2000 is the archetypal guitar of the period. I’ve not played a ‘bad’ one, although some weigh the same as Wales. There’s a reason a lot of the post-Punk guys played these and not Les Pauls of the same era. They are fab - assuming your back can handle the weight and mine can’t hence why I sold mine a long time back.

While agreeing with pretty much everything you’ve said - a small point of order:

Things that are heavy weigh the same (or more) than the Moon. Wales is a measurement of area - like a football field.

Thanks for the tips about weight, everyone. That would be a real issue for me.

Ah, but I like mixing my metaphors and subjugating my similes. And fucking shit up.

Tbh, my SG2000 is missed but blimey it was heavy!

...and double decker busses if you want to know how tall something is. Length I think would be diplodicus, or was it triceratops? Maybe stegosaurus.

No, no, no. Length is football pitches. Area is Wales.

thought we established football pitches as measurement of area - like Wales? Although I've definitely seen whales as a measurement of length. Usually blue ones but sometimes sperm.

I’d look at an Aria PE, Kawai KS or Ibanez Artist tbh

If it was me, I’d go Ibanez artist.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Of course there is an alternative to the Moon, as a unit of weight - and that is ‘bags of sugar’.

A Yamaha SG would typically be about 5 bags of sugar....
