WTB: PRS 1988-1991

As per title! I've got a 1990 and I love it. Keen to pick up something from these years, with a particular preference for pretty tops, and vintage yellow.

There's a guy in Glasgow selling my old 88. One piece top in green though. Approx I think he was asking 2.5k

Love the early PRS but never found a keeper. Had one '86 and a few from the 87-93 period. One belonged to Graham Gouldman of 10CC....sold that for £1200....ffs. The prices today are silly and speculative. There seem to bear no relation to spec or condition, just its an old school PRS so we'll ask £2500 plus for it and hope to drop lucky. Spoke recently to my PRS hero David Grissom about his early guitars specifically the pickups, mine never sounded like his (lol), he said that was because he NEVER had regular pickups in any of his goldtops. They were always experimenting even back then.

I have a 90/91 CU24 with Braz Board and Sweet Switch that I woudl consider parting with - its not a case queen though, its been gigged/used and it will be priced accordingly, PM me if you want to discuss further.

Thanks mate! The sunburst models look absolutely perfect, and I would love either. I've also bought from Dave's before. However sadly the shipping + CITES + tax I think take these over a reasonable price, which is gutting

Need to check if they have Brazilian boards.  That's about when they switched over from BRW to IRW.  If they are BRW, you can't legally import them.

Edit:  you can legally bring one back as a personal possession if you fly across yourself and get it.  You wouldn't legally be allowed to sell it again though if I understand the regulations correctly.

Mid 91 was when they switched to irw. Once it's here(UK), you can sell it assuming it's not going cross borders, the regs do state that sale is prohibited but I'd be very surprised if for sale ads are trawled through. Some shops won't take them but others will.
