Favourite Pedal That Produces Weird/Quirky Sounds?

What's Hot
Creed_ClicksCreed_Clicks Frets: 1391
What's your pedal that gives you something different?
e.g. a Zvex lofi junky or a Red Panda Particle? I have gas for something that produces some oddness.
I used to have the lofi junky, and it was interesting. Currently have gas for a Red Panda particle but undecided. There seem to be tonnes of pedals out there that'll reverse, glitch, pitchshift and more.

What's you favourite "odd" one?

My current favourite of all my pedals (most of which make weird noises) is my Dwarfcraft Ghost Fax.

For when wasps in a jam jar just isn’t enough - they’ve got to have diarrhoea as well.

I had an Earthquaker Devices Rainbow Machine that was proper Hornchurch.

Like somewhone had fed a dwarf wizard a barrel of acid and then locked him in a shiny pink box.

Red Panda Particle was outside my weirdness zone but my recently acquired Meris Polymoon is amazing and out of this world....

Not quite a pedal, but the Alesis Bitrman was ace.

  • I used a Pearl Octaver when I got fed up with my OD pedals

  • I do love the warp function on the Boss RE-20.

Beyond that, big fan of analogue octaves like on the EQD Bit Commander or Tentacle.

I use a TC Electronic Flouresence... billed as a shimmer reverb. Makes sort of backwash synth sounds. Co-designed by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, apparently - so you get the picture.

Oh man, I love the Count To 5, the Malekko Downer, MWFX Judder... but my fave weirdo pedal is the Catalinbread Heliotrope. Sort of ring mod, sort of bitcrusher, totally discontinued. I will not let it leave again.

  • H9, Roland gr-33, mf104m, actually any moogerfooger.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

    Dr Scientist Bitquest

I really loved my Bitquest but it was an absolute bastard to use live. If only they would release a slightly larger version with an extra footswitch to switch between presets. It would be very expensive but I'd definitely show interest.

Also - Red Panda Particle. The new version is on the way very soon and it looks ace.

  • ZVex Fat Fuzz Factory.

It's starting point is totally OTT, paint-blistering fuzz ...and leaps off into UFO / arcade game territory with practically no encouragement, whatsoever.

    Highly recommended fun!
Not much of the gear, even less idea.
