I can't say I'm in the market for another handmade guitar but I have to say Eggle's 96 is a lovely looking guitar. And I don't really like fender style guitars usually  :-

Awful my have been a bit dramatic, I wouldn't buy it but I don't think it looks that bad really.

I'm with you, OP I think it looks pretty damn nice (yes, even the scratchplate).
