Effects with Solid State Amps?

Any external Modulation FX sound great but in my experience only the mildest of OD (NEVER Distortion) will produce anything sensible and usually best on a clean setting too.

The FX and ODs etc on the Cubes are a bit extreme. The Smaller Cubes also sound Boxy and one dimmensional ...  SS watts also do not relate linearly to Tube Watts...
