Gibson Memphis confirmed closure

After some mixed messages over the past few months, looks like production is confirmed to be moving out of Memphis.

Glad I bought an ES335 in the sale before this happened.

Assuming 2020 ES models will be produced in nashville, I wonder if they’ll be great (fresh impetus and drive to make them top drawer) or dodgy!

Lets hope that works out well as although Memphis started with a wobble for a couple of years they really hit their stride and produced some great Semi's in my mind

Not surprised - Could not see the logic of 2 factories - effectively they could make the same product in both outlets - Any difference between Memphis and Nashville, on certain models, was by design and not ability

See the Chapter 11 exit has been approved, so just waiting final confirmation

Makes no difference to me. Without looking I couldn’t tell you where any of my Gibson’s are made, ( except for my J50 which was made in Montana).
