Roundwound strings on Kala U-bass?

What's Hot
I've got a U-bass that I was thinking of selling, but I've just caught up with the fact that Kala now do roundwound silk-and-steel strings as well as the rubbery ones.
That would make the bass a bit more generally useful for me, but they are rather expensive... so before I spring for a set, I thought I'd ask if anyone here has tried them, and if so, what did you think?
(And also if anyone has recommendations for where to get them at a reasonable price!)

In your position, I would research the string tension loading that the U-Bass neck can withstand.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

  • Valid point, but as Kala are selling them to fit their own instrument, I'd hope it's OK!
