It's not a stock US Strat.  They made it much worse by putting Texas Specials in it.

Not a stupid one, but a signature that's actually really good.  I bought an Ibanez Kiko 10p off ebay, bought used but new really, for half the new price.  Turned out to be a peach too.  Just to prove that not all signiture models are shit.  I did change the neck pick up though, but apart from that, kick ass

Yes, but Gibson didn't go there this time. Instead they developed a 'Strat' with Janie Hendrix. I know, it should've been an April 1st joke - but sadly it wasn't. You can read a bit about it here.

Should be enough to convince anyone that this was one of the stupidest signature guitars. Thankfully Gibson buried it.

I'd have to add the Gibson Alex Lifeson ES Les Paul, if it hasn't been mentioned already.

It's actually a very nice guitar - I have one, but pointless being a 'signature' guitar because AFAIK he never played one????*

Plus, he has at least three other Gibson signature models that I know of - call me cynical but I reckon a bit of money swapped hands in exchange for his scribble.

PRS should have made a signature CE3 for him, never did understand why they never capitalised on that.

* I could be wrong.

 I believe he did us a couple of ES Les Pauls on the last couple of Rush tours, not predominately though, that duty wen tto he Access models, one with a floyd. I think you're right about the signature thing, he never played one with his name scribbled on it!

I don't he is that much of a gear nut to be honest.
