Guitar price depreciation

One problem with second hand high-end guitars is buyers believing that a dealer’s advertised price is what the guitar is ‘worth’, so they pay over the odds - if the price is a little less from another seller, thinking they’re getting a bargain. Then find that when they try to sell it privately, they can’t get more than about two-thirds of that. I know several people who fall into that trap time and again, and just don’t seem to understand that dealers inflate prices. (And have to, in order to do the things that being a dealer entails, including making a profit.)

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
