Although there have been numerous NGD’s, I’ve not posted anything for a while...life getting in the way, blahblahblah...

However, this is came my way last night by way of a cheap trade. Rough round the edges, but plays really well.

If you told me what the guitar looked like on specs alone, I'd say it wasn't for me... But damn, that comes together to form one beautiful guitar I'd love to own. Gorgeous NGD!

Maybe NGD threads should be split into sections. One to discus the cost and one for the value?

That is absolutely crazy. I thought I’d seen every kind of Chinese Gretsch knock off, time and time
again. Trust the Master to find something this far off the map.

Bigsby or Chigsby?

Must admit to being tempted by these before but the fret markers (of all things..) put me off.

Greco did copies as well but hard to find and prices asked are silly.

I guess that no one in their right mind would bother faking a Gretsch Electromatic . It would be like someone faking a Mexican Fender.
If you will go to the trouble of producing a fake, you will aim to copy one of their higher ranges

Plenty of fake Epiphones and Squiers around - the standards of your fakery need not be so high, plus it's easier to get the right hardware.
