WTB: Tascam 4 Track Portastudio 414

In the 80s and early 90s the 4-track was the stepping stone to the 8-track or 16-track semi-pro studio. In the mid-90s myself and a friend recorded 30+ songs on a Yamaha/Tascam 4-track, sending ideas and rough mixes back and forth in jiffybags. I'd quickly found the limits of 4-tracks though - recording drum machine, guitar and bass then bouncing it down to track 4, couple more guitar tracks, bounce down to track 3, vocals and backing on tracks 1 & 2. We had the promise of a 7" single on an indie label in Germany so we splashed out on a weekend in a "proper" studio. Much better results, but the single was never released!

Springsteen's Nebraska was recorded on a Portastudio with a couple of SM57s.
