Sorted - strymon timeline midi

hot pickups, I have one of those but to update the firmware you need to plug the pedal in via the usb port on the pedal which is a separate socket to the midi plug, thanks xtrouble thats exactly it! thanks guys, will go ahead and order one of those male a to b usb cables

Ah yes I realised that now. How was disaster area amps to deal with when you got your DMC? I'm thinking of going for his DMC-6D

i didn't buy it new, but having dealt with them in the past few days I have to say they are one of if not the best company I have ever dealt with, I emailed them asking if it were possible to use the left and middle switches on my dmc 3 to bank select on a timeline and the right as a tap tempo, and he emailed back to me with firmware he had created for me, with instructions on how to do, after I got stuck with which lead to use I emailed him and he got back to me within a matter of hours, I emailed him today after finding the right lead because I couldn't work out how to install it and he got back to me again within hours, absolutely faultless customer service, would definitely recommend them, and their products

That's great to hear. I'll be ordering mine soon then. Shame there isn't a company that does products like these in the UK. Apart from the gigrig's G2 which is way too overkill for my needs
