I hate Paul Reed Smith Knob(s)

What's Hot
What it says I love playing my PRS's but hate the total no resistance to turning knobs.  Aftermarket fixes like felt are not great either.

Why couldnt he copy les paul nobs as well

Oh interesting I love mine, they sit at 6 and when I want to tickle the valves up they spin to 10 effortlessly - funny ole world each to there own ;)

    I read this as

I hate Paul Reed Smith. Knobs.
And was just popping in to agree.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

Unusual for a PRS joke to not include some dental reference- Respect!  =)

  • Eventually you will come to recognise that Mr Fender's second significant guitar design got the ergonomics right.

Everything after that was either a compromise or copy...

So you aren't actually hating the knobs, you are hating the potentiometer action?

  • I much prefer less resistance. The knobs on my Charvel are pretty much spot-on for that.

I seem to remember an Eddie Van Halen range of pots being marketed, which spun easily, as per Eddie's preference...
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

I agree.  I know which would require a wash of the hands afterward as well
