I think it's analogue, just digitally controlled.

If the build quality wasn’t excellent it defeat the purpose of it in the first place. No point in putting motorised faders and all these features if they don’t actually work. 

I could see it working well with the G2. I have one of the earlier GigRig switchers and the limitation of the format is that when chaining multiple pedals together you probably don’t  want the same settings on the same pedal for all of your patches, and the more pedals in the chain the more likely it is that you will want settings to be different.

 Non-midi or non-preset pedals inherently limit the possibilities of use because if you want to change settings you have to manually adjust the knobs, which means that in a live setting per song at least you are probably limited to one setting per pedal. The Automatone fixes all of that.

I’m not really a tweaker, but I quite fancy one of these, a FTT flight time, and a month off work, and parental duties. The chances of the last two are pretty slim so I’ll stick to my 3-knob overdrives for now.

Just imagining a board with one of these, a Moog MF-104M, and the upcoming Chase Bliss/Meris CXM 1978 reverb (with the same slider thingies). Incredible, though you’d never gig with it out of fear.
