Stop tail piece is still in the wrong position also, maybe they are saving that for 2020.

Another vid here..  Check out that PHAT neck on the 64 SG..  Neck dive city     BUT MAN, those flamey top DC Specials.. WOW...  The only thing I will say about it all is unspotted pickups? Is that really a good idea?

I'm not an expert here - so was just wondering what's wrong with the positioning?  I'd be interested in seeing a photo comparison.  If it is 'wrong' I was wondering that with all the attention to detail re fret markers, plastics, wiring, caps, un-potted pickups, why that one got by them they didn't put it in the right place if they're saying it's 99.9% accurate to an original?

The stop tail on originals was angled the same as the tuneomatic bridge. Not straight.

This was one of the things they addressed years ago, maybe o the 2009? Have thy gone back to the old way as I lost interest years ago too. I remember at the time there being a lot of debate as to if it was set by eye at the factory on the originals as they were all different.

Should've released a 59th anniversary model last year to celebrate the '59, but heyo.

As far as i know they have never addressed this issue, i could be wrong though.

I'm absolutely furious about that incorrectly placed tailpiece.
It's almost like Gibson are going out of their way to fill me with rage.

TBH it doesn't bother me. My R8's From 2001 so not historically accurate.

Gibson can never make a 100% historically accurate one because it wouldn't leave them anywhere to go for the following years.

Yep, There was a product on the market where you replaced one of the studs with an offset one and it lined up correctly but i don not know if it would effect the sustain of the guitar.
